Our Jim Shorkey Toyota team got the chance to help an amazing group, The Assisted Goals Foundation! Last month, we were able to donate $10,000 to this amazing organization and have a hand in helping their cause. The Assisted Goals Foundation helps to bring the love and enjoyment of the game of hockey to all! This organization works to “provide a reprieve in the accessibility gap that exists in the hockey community.” With costs for players continuously rising, The Assisted Goals Foundation strives to help anyone, and everyone play the game of hockey, despite their family’s financial situation. Pittsburgh Zoo enters partnership with Jim Shorkey Auto Group Keep your eyes on the road; schools, camps, libraries, and community groups throughout Western Pennsylvania can watch for the arrival of two new Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium Zoomobiles, generously provided in partnership with the Jim Shorkey Auto Group.  The partnership with Shorkey kicked off late 2022, and the newly wrapped vehicles are now bringing educational programs about wildlife and conservation to the community. In 2022 alone, Zoomobiles travelled to over 200 programs throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The Zoomobiles cover about 3,000 miles per year visiting learners of all ages, from preschools to colleges, as well as senior living facilities. There are 15 different educational programs to choose from, ranging from 30 minutes to an hour, where Zoo educators present small animals, including a variety of reptiles, mammals, and birds. “The Zoomobiles are invalueable for bringing the Zoo out to the community, especially to those who may not often have the chance to come visit us on grounds. The cars are wrapped with eye-catching animal designs which will be sure to turn heads,” said Margie Marks, Curator of Conservation Education at the Pittsburgh Zoo. “We are so pleased to be a part of such a wonderful program that brings education about wildlife to people all over the Pittsburgh Area. It is an honor to partner with the Pittsburgh Zoo, and we are looking forward to seeing all the great work and smiling faces that the Zoomobiles will bring to all the local community groups, recreation centers, schools, and many more.
